The Green Sustainability Strategist is responsible for the research, development, identification and implementation of new green polymers and unique raw materials to be used in the process of manufacturing green specialty textiles that meet both customer and business needs while remaining environmentally responsible. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following essential job functions:
  1. Be able to identify, recommend and define paths for green opportunities with current product assortment
  2. Travel both domestically and internationally 
  3. Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to determine and meet business needs in a way that is environmentally sound
  4. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers of raw materials to identify products that support sustainability efforts
  5. Understand the functionality of current raw materials in order to identify substitutions
  6. Be familiar with and understand environmental government regulations in both the US and Europe and be able to communicate recommendations based on these guidelines while adhering to compliance
  7. Pilot and oversee trials of new materials monitoring, analyzing and tracking data of performance
  8. Identify and incorporate industry trends with green initiatives 
  9. Support cross-functional teams to achieve goals 
  10. Assess and report current product state in relation to the company’s environmental     performance

Must have a bachelor’s degree from an Accredited College or University in Materials Engineering, Textile
Chemistry, Polymer Engineering or related field of study  

Prefer proficiency and experience in sustainability with manufacturing experience
